The design vision
Today our director's speech was the catch of the day. P.V's, as we usually refer to him generally (and also in a friendly way, glad he is so approachable and cool) talk was entire focused on a beautiful vision that he has, which also is a vision of all those great people who has given NID its status and position, where it stands today. This vision is for the 'PEOPLE'. Yes, I would quote it as the people, rather then limiting it by the word 'INDIA'.
He said a beautiful thing about India, that the Indian-ness of India lies in her diversity and the beautiful clutter that we all live in. And that has become India's identity. And we the people are the ones to create this. The vision that he shared with us was a very people centric and the involvement of design and designers at the grass root level.
Today, The Ahmedabad times published the dip project of Vazir. Click here to take a look at it. This is about the awareness and beyond that, giving a solution to the diabetic people about there health. I think projects like this are some wonderful examples of this great vision that we all share.
There are many many opportunities to reach out to people and places, who really need design. We just have to identify them.
Cheers to NID, P.V and to all we designers, to the masses and to the positive changes and not to forget, INDIA.
